Napa Valley’s Bouchaine Vineyards will pour at the St. James’s House book launch of “King Charles III: The Leadership and Vision of a Modern Monarch” hosted at Claridge’s Hotel in London

(Nov. 6, 2023 – Napa, Calif.)—Hailing from the cool-climate Carneros region in the Napa Valley, Bouchaine Vineyards’ owners Gerret and Tatiana Copeland are honored to announce they have received an exclusive invitation to showcase their wines at the book launch of “King Charles III: The Leadership and Vision of a Modern Monarch.” The event will take place in London on Nov. 14, 2023, and will be hosted by the official royal publisher, St. James’s House, as a part of the celebration honoring the King’s 75th birthday. The festivities will take place at the renowned Claridge’s Hotel’s elegant art deco ballroom and will be co-hosted by royal author Robert Jobson and royal photographer Arthur Edwards, who will hold a Q&A session and sign copies of the book. Guests at the invite-only event will have a rare opportunity to taste a variety of wines from the Bouchaine estate poured by winery president and winemaker Chris Kajani.

Tatiana Copeland, chairman of Bouchaine, is also planning to travel to London for the festivities. Copeland holds the royal family near and dear, having developed a friendship with the King’s aunt, Princess Margaret, over several years beginning in the 1980s while vacationing on the island of Mustique, where Copeland owns the extraordinary villa, Toucan Hill. According to Travel + Leisure, the private island remains a top destination for celebrity elite, hailing from the realms of music, fashion and royalty, including the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Copeland previously met The King as the Prince of Wales and the late Duke of Edinburgh through her charitable work. “After sharing our wines during the Queen Elizabeth’s Jubilee in 2022, we are once again thrilled to help the royal family celebrate a special occasion with a little taste of California sunshine,” she says.

The Copelands have owned Bouchaine Vineyards for over 40 years, making it one of the oldest, continuously family-owned properties in Napa Valley’s Carneros AVA. Nestled at the northern portion of San Pablo Bay and looking out toward San Francisco, Bouchaine is ideally located and perfectly suited for growing elegant Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

The wines to be poured at the event include the 2020 Bouchaine Estate Chardonnay, 2021 Bouchaine Estate Calera Clone Pinot Noir, 2021 Bouchaine Estate Riesling, 2021 Bouchaine Estate Mt. Eden Clone Pinot Noir, and the newly released 2021 Bouchaine Estate Syrah.

About Bouchaine

Bouchaine was founded by Gerret and Tatiana Copeland and is today one of the leading producers of sustainably farmed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the Carneros AVA. The estate is comprised of 104 acres, including a dramatic winery and new tasting room and a state-of-the-art kitchen. The vineyards at Bouchaine are greatly influenced by the adjacent San Pablo Bay, where cool breezes and the daily influx of fog allow cool climate varieties to shine. The location’s substantial daily temperature shifts also help develop beautiful acidity in the fruit, resulting in wines with vivid energy and texture. Noted as the first “Fish Friendly Farming” certified vineyard in Napa Valley, the winery is also Napa Green land and winery certified. If one sentence can encapsulate the energy of Bouchaine, it is the winery’s new trademarked slogan, “Wine Makes you Happy™.
