Walt Wines(SONOMA, CA—October 18, 2013) – Craig and Kathryn Walt Hall, owners of WALT and HALL wines, announced the purchase of the Anderson Creek vineyard comprised of 35 vineyard acres.   Planted to 33 acres of Pinot Noir and 2 acres of Chardonnay, the vineyard has been a key source for the Anderson Valley AVA wines of the WALT wine portfolio since 2010, including WALT ‘The Corners’ and ‘Blue Jay’ Pinot Noirs.  Grapes from the vineyard have also gone to other top producers including Littorai and Paul Hobbs.  WALT expects to continue to sell grapes to other producers in future years.

“We are thrilled to add a premium vineyard like Anderson Creek to our estate vineyard portfolio”, says Kathryn Walt Hall.  “We have made exceptional Pinot Noir from this property for the past four years and we believe that it is critical to have our own Anderson Valley vineyard.   We feel this is an elite appellation that is on the rise for both quality and perception, and due to the limited size of the Anderson Valley, it also is becoming a very exclusive winegrowing location.”

The property, which consists of 175 acres total, is made up of gentle slopes adjacent to the Anderson Creek and includes hillside vineyards that rise up to an elevation of 800 feet.  It was planted in 2006 using state-of-the-art viticultural techniques, dense spacing, and was planted to six different clones of Pinot Noir, including clones 4, 114, 115, 667, 777 and 828.  The vineyard is located at 14401 Highway 128, situated on the outskirts of the town of Boonville.

Zepponi & Company, the global wine industry mergers and acquisitions advisory firm, served as the exclusive financial advisor to the seller and negotiated the sale.
