Daniel Hartenstein Selected To Lead The Hess Collection Northeast Sales Division

Daniel HartensteinDaniel Hartenstein has been chosen to lead the newly formed Northeast Sales Division for The Hess Collection winery, covering nine key states including New York and New Jersey.  

Hartenstein has been with The Hess Collection since 2007, most recently as the Northeast Regional Sales Manager.  Notably, sales in his region, which included New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, have grown by 25 percent under his care. Previously, he served as a District Manager for Empire Merchants/Charmer Sunbelt Group, leading a fine wine sales team of 20 sales representatives focusing on Manhattan.

As a Sommelier and Corporate Beverage Director for world famous  Tavern on the Green and The Russian Tea Room in New York he created and managed the beverage programs for this $55 million restaurant group.  Earlier, he was the Food & Beverage Director and Sommelier at L’Auberge de Sedona in Arizona, a four star resort.

Included in the new Northeast Division will be a Field Sales Manager based in Boston, now being recruited.  Joining Hartenstein in the division will be Brian Scott, currently a Strategic Account Manager working from New York.  Scott is also a Certified Sommelier.

While serving as a Sommelier, Hartenstein appeared on The Food Network, on CBS News, discussing the top wine programs in Manhattan, as a guest on WineTV and also served as well as a resource for journalists writing about wine in the New York Post.  Hartenstein was part of a team that created and ran Sip For The Sea last year, raising $500,000 to help re-build the storm ravaged New York Aquarium.

Hartenstein holds a BA degree from Lawrence University, and became a Certified Sommelier in the Court of Master Sommeliers in 2000, and earned an Advanced Degree from the Wine & Spirits Educational Trust in 2006.

The new Northeast Division will serve Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Wendy Lavoie Selected To Lead The Hess Collection Southeast Sales Division

Wendy LavoieLavoie has been with The Hess Collection since 2006, most recently as the Florida/Caribbean Regional Sales Manager.  In 2013 she was selected as the winery’s Sales Manager of the Year.Wendy Lavoie has been chosen to lead the newly formed Southeast Sales Division for The Hess Collection winery, covering key states including Florida and Georgia.  There are 13 states and the District of Columbia in the Southeast Division territory.

Previously, she held a series of increasingly responsible assignments for Premier Beverage Company in Florida, earning Sales Consultant of the Year status and traveling in wine regions throughout the world as the winner of incentive driven sales drives from various supplier companies.

Included in the new Southeast Division will be two Field Sales Managers, now being recruited.  One FSM will be based in Atlanta and take responsibility for the Carolinas, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee and Alabama.  The other FSM, working from Florida, will focus on the state, one of the winery’s largest markets. John Amoroso, a Regional Sales Manager based in Washington D.C. will join her team and have responsibility for Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C.

For more than a decade Lavoie has been a key figure with the Naples Winter Wine Festival, helping to raise over $100,000,000 for local children’s charities since 2000.  Each year she leads wine service volunteers and helps top sommeliers from around the world organize and provide wine service for Festival patrons, who attend and bid on noteworthy auction items.

The new Southeast Division will serve Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, North and South Carolina.

Ryan Jones Selected To Lead The Hess Collection Central Sales Division

Ryan JonesRyan Jones has been chosen to lead the newly formed Central Sales Division for The Hess Collection winery, covering key states including Colorado, Texas and Illinois.  As Division Sales Manager, he will report to Brian Batridge, Vice President, National Field Sales. There are 19 states in the Central Division territory.

Jones, who will be based in Colorado, had been serving as Southwest Regional Sales Manager for The Hess Collection, joining the winery two years ago after a decade in key positions with Beverage Distributors Company and Mountain Wine Distributing (now part of BDC) in Colorado.  He served as the Business Manager for the Meritage Fine Wine Division, heading up The Hess Collection brand.  As part of the senior management team he helped direct a team of more than 50 sales

specialists.  Earlier, he began his career with Gallo in the San Francisco Bay area, earning Sales Representative of the Year recognition.

Included in the new Central Division will be Jeanne Jesse, Chicago-based Regional Sales Manager, covering the North Central region, and Maureen Lara-Fournier, an RSM based in Houston.  A new Field Sales Manager position is now being recruited and will be based in Colorado.

Jones achieved accredited status as a Certified Specialist of Wine from the Society of Wine Educators in 2004, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.  He was awarded the Master’s of Business Administration from Regis University in Denver.

“Over the past two years Ryan has consistently demonstrated a level of commitment and success that has gained the respect of our distributor partners, helping move our business forward,” said Batridge.  “We look forward to his continued contributions in this new and exciting role.”

The new Central Division will serve Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North and South Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah and Wisconsin.
