Stags Leap District WinegrowersThis remarkable collection of 2010 Cabernets offers wine enthusiasts a one-of-a-kind opportunity to taste their way through the renowned Stags Leap District appellation.

The Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association (SLDW) announced today the October 15th release of its highly limited Appellation Collection – the only Napa Valley wine offering comprised entirely from a single appellation.  This year’s coveted compilation features one bottle of 2010 Stags Leap District-designated Cabernet Sauvignon from each of its 17 distinguished association member wineries. The exclusive release will be made available from October 15th through December 15th, 2014, making it the ideal gift for wine collectors and enthusiasts this holiday season.

The Stags Leap District Appellation Collection is designed to showcase the world-class quality and distinctive characteristics of the District’s Cabernet Sauvignon. It offers wine enthusiasts a one-of-a-kind opportunity to taste their way through the iconic Stags Leap District appellation and experience the region’s “sense of place.”  A must-have for wine lovers and collectors alike, this compilation represents the best that the region and its gifted vintners have to offer.  These critically acclaimed and rare wines are no longer (or never were) available in the broad market and only 150 sets are available.

“Fans of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon will find a lot to get excited about with the 2010 vintage,” said Antonio Galloni, 2010 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon: An Epic Vintage, VinousMedia.com. “The 2010’s are magnificent, viscerally thrilling wines loaded with character and personality.”

“Given the whims of Mother Nature, the 2010 vintage enjoyed long, steady ripening in the Stags Leap District giving the tannins elegance, exquisite balance and complexity that the region’s wines are known for,” said Allison Steltzner, president of the Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association and General Manager at Steltzner Vineyards.  “The critics are saying that 2010 is the greatest vintage for Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon in the past 4 years and we couldn’t agree more. This year’s Appellation Collection provides a fantastic opportunity to explore the signature power and richness of our region’s wines and is a collection that will age beautifully over the next decade.”

The 2010 Appellation Collection includes one bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon from each of the following Stags Leap District Winegrowers’ wineries: Baldacci Family Vineyards, Chimney Rock Winery, Cliff Lede Vineyards, Clos Du Val, Hartwell Vineyards, Ilsley Vineyards, Lindstrom Wines, Malk Family Vineyards, Pine Ridge Vineyards, Regusci Winery, Robinson Family Vineyards, Shafer Vineyards, Silverado Vineyards, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, Stags’ Leap Winery, Taylor Family Vineyards, and Terlato Family Vineyards.

The 2010 Appellation Collection is priced at $1,599.00 for the 17-bottle set. Additional sales tax of 8% applies to purchases made in California and in various other states, to the extent required by law. The Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association is the exclusive retailer of the Appellation Collection and the only American Viticultural Association or appellation offering a vintage-specific assemblage of its Cabernet Sauvignon.

Consumers interested in purchasing the Collection may order online beginning October 15th, 2014 at www.stagsleapdistrict.com/appellationcollection. For additional information, contact the Association’s Executive Director Nancy Bialek at (707) 255-1720.
