Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation Hosts 14th Annual Napa County Pruning Contest

Napa Valley GrapegrowersWhat: The Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation hosts its 14th Annual Napa County Pruning Contest and continuing the tradition begun in 2014, will feature a Women’s Division. The county-wide competition highlights the quality, skill and speed of top Napa Valley vineyard pruners and contest winners are awarded cash prizes, tools and more.

Who: Many vineyards host their own competitions prior to the contest and send their most talented employees to compete against Napa’s top pruners in this cherished industry event. The Farmworker Foundation encourages employers to compensate contestants and match the prizes won. There is no entry fee for competitors.

When: Thursday, February 19, 11 a.m.; winners announced at approximately 1 p.m.

Where: Beringer Vineyards Gamble Ranch, 1299 State Lane, Yountville, CA.

More fun: A free Mexican-style lunch is provided by Compadres and served to contestants, who will be serenaded by festive music throughout the event.
