World¹s most popular wine app builds world¹s largest wine community
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., ‹ April 1, 2015 ‹Vivino today announced that more than 9 million people have downloaded its wine app since launch in April 2012, making it the world’s most popular wine app. Fans of Vivino continue to discover, rate, review and share reds, whites, rosés and sparkling wines featured in the company¹s database of over five million wine labels, including Vivino’s latest database of restaurant wine lists.
The wine app has achieved broad-level adoption domestically and internationally, with users continuing to become their own amateur sommeliers with the help of Vivino’s crowd-sourced new Restaurant Wine List Scanner. Upon taking a photo of a restaurant’s wine list in the Vivino app, users receive instant ratings as well as user-generated prices and reviews.
Since it’s launch, Vivino has racked up impressive stats:
- Over 333,000 wine lists have been scanned since the scanner’s release and the app averages ten wines per scan
- The most popular days for wine list scanner use are on Saturdays, Sundays and Fridays, respectively.
- More than 1.5 million red and 400,000 white wines have been scanned via the Restaurant Wine List Scanner
- The Vivino Wine App is now available for download on Android, Apple and Windows devices.
