CuneSan Francisco, July 7, 2015. In an agreement struck on July 1st, Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España (CVNE) entrusted California distribution of their Cune, Vina Real, Monople, Imperial and Contino wines to Maritime Wine Trading Collective. Founded in 1879 in Haro, La Rioja, Spain, CVNE wines are produced by the direct descendants of the Real de Asua family.

Maritime CEO, Chris Nickolopoulos, states: “The addition of the impressive CVNE family of iconic Rioja wines to the Maritime portfolio is consistent with our ideology of bringing a distinctive selection of independent family owned wine estates and brands to the California market. All of our producers have authentic legacies and commitment to crafting wines which define their regions through embracing tradition while expressing innovation.”

“Our choice to partner with Maritime in the critically important market of California is reflective of our commitment to representing the region of Rioja and the country of Spain in the world’s top wine consuming market. We’ve assembled a network of partners whose fundamental approach to market are consistent with CVNE’s, and respectful of the heritage of the CVNE family of wines and those of the Rioja region,” adds Joan Pujols, International business director of CVNE and Europvin.
