Arlene Smith Leads Training and Development Dept., Jennifer Pierre Joins Firm

Personnel Perspective 300x200Santa Rosa, CA – The Personnel Perspective (TPP) has launched a new Training and Development department, focused on helping clients solve business problems, improve efficiency, strengthen employee retention, and increase employee value. The firm promoted Arlene Smith to director of the new department, which provides clients with customizable supervisor, manager, and leadership training tailored to the company’s uniquely situated needs. The firm has also just hired 17-year HR veteran Jennifer Pierre as a senior consultant. “This initiative comes on the heels of our very successful partnership with insurance leader Arrow Benefits Group,” said TPP Managing Partner Karen Alary. “The new Training and Development department helps clients make the most of their best resource: their employees. It provides companies with programs that foster an enriched workplace environment and a greater level of employee satisfaction, success, and career fulfillment.”

The new Training and Development department uses TPP’s strategic model developed to respond to clients’ needs and give learners the opportunity to put new skills to work. The department also works closely with clients on managerial and leadership mentoring and coaching. Since first joining TPP in 1997, newly promoted Director of Training and Development Smith has served as executive coach, career counselor, trainer, and instructional designer. She works with mid- to C-level leaders to facilitate growth and goal achievement in alignment with company goals. She previously held a variety of both corporate and consulting roles in training and development.

“The decision to create this role was in recognition of the increasing demand from our clients to support their employees in the development of core skills and knowledge needed at each level of management.”  “Arlene’s promotion recognizes her years of invaluable contributions to TPP’s clients and will give her the opportunity to leverage her expertise,” said Alary.  “She brings vitality, professionalism, warmth, and a mindset of service and advocacy to her work with clients, who recognize her as an astute, insightful, and trusted advisor – attributes that especially suit her to this new role. I know she will continue supporting and motivating both established and emerging leaders to be more effective and confident in their roles, an invaluable skill that will propel the success of the new department.”

Jennifer Pierre’s arrival at TPP coincides with what Alary calls “an explosively productive year of growth.” Pierre brings over 17 years of broad-based human resources experience to her senior consultant role. She has worked with city government, academia, financial institutions, and Fortune 500 companies. A graduate of California State University Sacramento, she earned her degree in sociology with a minor in criminal justice. With very well-rounded experience, she supports clients with compliance, employee relations, training, leadership development, coaching, emotional intelligence, investigations, and succession planning.
