ssu-wine-businessRohnert Park, CA –The Wine Business Institute (WBI) at Sonoma State University (SSU) today announced it will host a Wine Sensory Evaluation Workshop at Shone Farm, presented by the Viticulture and Enology Science and Technology Alliance (VESTA). The Wine Business Institute is the official California partner of VESTA. Sensory instructor Zoran Ljepovic, Winemaking Quality Control at Constellation Brands, will explore the evaluation of palate attributes, descriptive wine analysis with a focus on alcohol, acid & tannins, laboratory analysis of wines, wine competition methodology, and professional wine rating systems.  The two-day workshop will cover white wines on December 3 and red wines on December 4.

“We place a high value on our partnership with VESTA because we believe our students and greater community should have access to a comprehensive wine experience. This event represents an important opportunity for wine enthusiasts of all kinds to come join us for a weekend of fun and learning,” Ray Johnson, Executive Director of the Wine Business Institute said.

VESTA is funded by a National Science Foundation (NSF) partnership between the Missouri State University system and colleges, universities, vineyards and wineries across America. The Wine Business Institute has helped shape VESTA’s wine business curriculum with the goal of providing students a foundation of the science, mathematics, and technology skills needed for a productive career in the grape and wine industry.
