SAN FRANCISCO, CA – March 2017 – Meiomi, the leading luxury American wine brand, announces the debut of its new rosé this month. The release of the 2016 bottling represents Meiomi’s first rosé wine, which joins the brand’s hugely popular Pinot Noir and Chardonnay offerings, beloved by consumers for their approachable flavors and silky texture. With a suggested retail price of $24.99, the 2016 Meiomi Rosé is currently a limited release which can be found at select locations via www.meiomi.com.

Like Meiomi Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Meiomi Rosé is sourced from a blend of California’s preeminent coastal wine regions. The Pinot Noir-dominant blend layers notes of strawberry and rose petal from Sonoma County fruit, bright acidity and minerality from Monterey County terroir, and flavors of stone fruit and a creaminess on the palate from grapes grown in Santa Barbara County. Each of the vineyards chosen for this wine offers the best expression of its appellation, carefully blended to achieve balance, complexity, and richness of flavor.

The rosé bottling is also the first wine to be released under the direction of Melissa Stackhouse, who was appointed Director of Winemaking for Meiomi in 2016. “Joining the Meiomi winemaking team has been an exciting challenge and a natural extension of my experience crafting wines from Northern California’s top winemaking regions,” Melissa says. Of the wine, she notes that “Meiomi Rosé is delightfully dry, making it a fantastic wine for spring and summer, but also an ideal match for all types of food because of its vibrant acidity.” Light salmon in color with just a kiss of pink hue, Meiomi Rosé opens with delicate aromas of watermelon, orange peel, and hints of rose petal. The palate offers a lush mouthfeel with flavors of stone fruit and strawberry with a cool minerality on the finish.

The addition of Meiomi Rosé to the brand’s portfolio solidifies its strong share of the luxury price segment, where Meiomi continues to drive $ Sales growth over 23% and maintains 22% of dollar share.1 To further trial and awareness of the brand’s portfolio, Meiomi will introduce a new print and digital advertising campaign beginning in spring 2017. “Rosé is a category with immense growth potential,” notes Kim Moore, Marketing Director for Meiomi. “The rich flavors of Meiomi Rosé are balanced by a delicate style, which both Meiomi loyalists and new fans will love to discover.”
