Craft Distillery Seeks Broader Audience for Artisanal Spirit
April 4, 2017 – Graton CA; Graton Distilling Company is pleased to announce that it is expanding the distribution footprint for its award-winning D. George Benham’s Sonoma Dry Gin. The highly anticipated drive toward national distribution, which began in March of 2017 with Chicago’s Heritage Distributing and continues in April with Opici Family Distributing in Metro New York, will be followed by kick-offs in key urban markets throughout the spring and summer.
Launched in California in early 2016, D. George Benham’s Sonoma Dry Gin is handmade at the Graton Distilling Company at its custom-built distillery in Western Sonoma County California. This artisan gin is the first release in an exciting portfolio of craft spirits (including an American blended whisky, grain-to-glass rye and a 10-year-old bourbon) currently in the works there.
The award-winning flavor profile of Benham’s Gin is driven by a unique combination of 12 distinct botanicals including local-sourced and hand-zested Meyer Lemon and Buddha’s Hand, Tuscan juniper, star anise, galangal and peppermint. Each botanical is then individually vapor distilled to the point of peak extraction and then blended into a beautifully balance proprietary blend.
“Our Gin has a hand-made character that is really special,” notes Proprietor, Derek Benham. “For instance, we use fresh local hand-zested citrus because we know the bright intense flavor is worth the extra work. The final product is a gorgeous cocktail in and of itself and a creative base for cocktails that are both striking and unique.”
