The award-winning winery in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge sets the stage for a second tasting room to open this Fall

Goldendale, Wash. (April 10, 2017) – Responding to growing demand for its wine in the Spokane-Coeur d’Alene metro region, Maryhill Winery will set roots in downtown Spokane. The winery plans to open its first satellite tasting room in Fall 2017 in Kendall Yards on the north bank of the Spokane River. It will offer visitors the same world-class experience and high-quality affordable wines that can be found at its headquarters in Goldendale, Washington.

Owners Craig and Vicki Leuthold, both natives of Spokane, founded Maryhill in 1999 with a vision to open a destination winery in the scenic Columbia River Gorge in southern Washington. Today, Maryhill’s 3,000 sq. ft. tasting room, 1,200 sq. ft. Reserve Room and outdoor amphitheater draw more than 75,000 wine enthusiasts from around the globe each year, ranking it among the top-five most visited wineries in the state. The Leutholds see Spokane as a natural setting to expand the Maryhill experience.

“Our new tasting room in Spokane will allow us to meet increasing demand not only of our wines, but in the relaxed, welcoming experience we’ve tried so hard to cultivate at our tasting room in the Gorge,” Craig Leuthold said. “Kendall Yards offers open space, fresh air, public art and a diverse mix of businesses, making it an ideal location for our tasting room.”

In early 2017, the Leutholds began working with the team at Kendall Yards an urban community set on a former rail yard owned by Charles Kendall. The Leutholds began conceptualizing a design for the 5000-square-foot tasting room that will offer a 180 degree view of the area, overlooking the Spokane River and downtown Spokane and an outdoor balcony. Wine club, public and private events, as well as live music will also be hosted at this location.

The tasting room will be built in the heart of Kendall Yards, located on the north bank of the Spokane River, just a five-minute stroll along the Centennial Trail from downtown Spokane. Updates will be posted on Maryhill Winery’s website as they become available.
