Full Scholarship Announced for Popular Online Wine Business Management Program
Rohnert Park, California – The Wine Business Institute (WBI) at Sonoma State University (SSU) today announced that $41,500 in wine business scholarships will be awarded to students in the Sonoma MBA in Wine Business and undergraduate Wine Business Strategies degree programs. The WBI also announced a new scholarship valued at $3,500 to be awarded to a first-time enrollee in the online Wine Business Management program launching May 11. The purpose of these scholarships is to support career development and educational accomplishment to offset costs of tuition, books, fees, housing, and other expenses. The scholarships will be awarded to recipients during an awards luncheon on August 14, 2017.
“Our goal is to create positive social change through career pathways and making them more accessible to all students by way of scholarship programs. In a fast-growing, interconnected, global economy, we continue to work towards finding innovative ways to educate and develop the future workforce of the regional economy with global impact,” Ray Johnson, Executive Director of the Wine Business Institute said.
The Wine Business Institute is now accepting applications for the new $3,500 scholarship from students and professionals looking to enroll in the online Wine Business Management program launching on Thursday, May 11, 2017. The award will be applied towards course fees and books required for the full program. Successful completion of the Wine Business Management program fulfills the two-year industry experience requirement for admission to the Sonoma MBA in Wine Business program.
Scholarships for the 2017-2018 academic year include the $10,000 Charlie Palmer Pigs and Pinot Scholarship and the $5,000 Donn P. Reisen Scholarship awarded to Sam Tesconi, and two $10,000 Southern Wine & Spirits Scholarships awarded to Diane Norton and Rene Taniguchi. Rene will also receive a $1,500 Liz Thach Scholarship, and William Kellerman will receive a $5,000 Vintage Wine Estates Scholarship.
These scholarships are in addition to more than $100,000 in scholarship and grants awarded through the Wine Industry Scholars Program, a pioneering program dedicated to helping children and family members of vineyard and winery workers to offset tuition and other educational expenses associated with attending SSU.
