Rutherford, CA (May 19, 2017) – Round Pond, family-owned winery and estate specializing in estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignons, announced today the appointment of Joan Stagnaro to lead Private Sales and Client Services. In the newly-created role, Stagnaro will handle private client direct sales at Round Pond Estate specializing in the top-tier limited-production wines, including the signature Cabernet Sauvignon Gravel Series, Reserve, and Proprietary.
Prior to joining Round Pond, Stagnaro spent five years at Hall Wines in St. Helena, where she worked in direct-to-consumer sales and membership services. In that capacity, Stagnaro cultivated existing and new client relationships and increased brand loyalty and presence. With more than 15 years of industry experience, Joan is a highly successful and broadly accomplished sales professional with a solid and in-depth knowledge of the wine industry.
Joan Stagnaro is a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers, holds a CSW from The Society of Wine Educators, a level 2 WSET with Wine and Spirits Education Trust, and CWAS from The California Wine School. Throughout her career, she has lived in Mexico City, San Francisco, Hanalei and Lahaina.
Joan’s family legacy is deeply rooted in the wine industry. Her father was a Zinfandel grower in Calistoga with a very “old country” approach to viticulture, providing the whole family (children included!) with an opportunity to participate in the production of their house wine barrels for their friends and family to enjoy. While it may not have seemed fun at the time, her upbringing ultimately led to a thorough understanding of all aspects of farming grapes and wine making. Upon her graduation from college, Joan began working in the tasting room at Hacienda Winery in Sonoma. Following that time, she went on to manage the tasting room at Viansa Sonoma winery. After a brief diversion into the San Francisco tech industry during the late 90’s, Stagnaro returned to the wine industry while living in Hawaii, where she worked as a wholesale sales representative at Chambers and Chambers Wine Merchants in Maui.
