Several wineries pay growers a bonus for grapes grown in vineyards, which are certified sustainably farmed. One of the most popular programs is the Lodi Rules environmental certification program.

Stephanie Bolton, Sustainable Winegrowing Director for the Lodi Winegrape Commission will give a presentation of the Lodi Rules Sustainable Winegrowing Program to the El Dorado Wine Grape Growers Association Wednesday July 16th at Veterans Hall, 130 Placerville Drive, Placerville 95667 CA at 6:00 pm.

According to their website, the Lodi Rules program has grown vigorously since its establishment in 2005. As of 2016, over 36,400 winegrape acres are “Certified Green” in California. Within the Lodi region, nearly 24,000 acres have been certified and over 12,500 acres were certified in other regions throughout California – representing a total of 9 Crush Districts.

Please join us Wednesday night. The program is free and open to the public
