Felipe Stalshmidt 600Historic Argentine winery Pascual Toso has announced, in conjunction with their 125th anniversary, that Felipe Stahlschmidt is joining their team as their new chief winemaker. Let me know if you need anything!

Stahlschmidt comes to Pascual Toso from Catena, where he oversaw their Vista Flores winery, managed a team of eleven winemakers, and made some of their best-selling wines, including Catena Zapata, and wines for their well-known Alamos brand.

In Stahlschmidt’s new role, he will serve as winemaker and custodian to Pascual Tosos’ 1,000 riverside acres that lie in Barrancas, Mendoza. Pascual Toso is one of Mendoza’s historic wineries, with a long tradition of crafting Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon from the old vines of the estate. Stahlschmidt’s belief that great wines represent their native terroir is in line with the long standing philosophy of the winery.

“Enrique Toso and the team at Pascual Toso have given me an incredible opportunity to work with some of Mendoza’s best terroir and to improve upon what are already some of Argentina’s best wines,” says Felipe Stahlschmidt of his new role at the winery.

Stahlschmidt graduated from the prestigious Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza with an Agronomic Engineer degree in 2003 and is today regarded as one of the top winemakers in Argentina.
