Rolando and Lorena Herrera’s dream will make it possible for others to realize theirs.
NAPA, Calif. (March 30, 2016)—Rolando and Lorena Herrera, owners of Mi Sueño Winery, hosted their first Primavera en Mi Sueño celebration. The sold-out event showcased the winery’s hospitality center with an afternoon of Latin food paired with delicious Mi Sueño wines and live music. The event raised $5,400 for the Puertas Abiertas Community Resource Center, which works hand in hand with Latinos to inspire and achieve healthy living, self-sufficiency, and opportunities for leadership and community engagement.
“It was an extraordinary afternoon,” said Lorena Herrera. “”My husband, Rolando, and I were overwhelmed with the support from our club members and the local community for Primavera en Mi Sueño’s success; we are thankful for their solidarity with Puertas Abiertas, an essential organization to our Latino community.”
Using traditional recipes from Chef Maria Robledo (Lorena’s mother), three generations of the family helped present four stunning courses paired with Rolando Herrera’s award-winning wines. More than 130 people basked in the sun, sipping on Mi Sueño wines and raving about flautas de pollo drenched with tomatillo sauce, sopes de carnitas con pico de gallo, and steak and rice chiles rellenos, and then swooning over a divine chocoflan.
