Trade-only event presents rare opportunity to acquire exceptional lots, not available to public

WHAT: Private Barrel Auction by the Auction of Washington Wines. This trade-only event features exclusive tastings and live auctions of one-of-a-kind, limited wine futures from notable Washington State winemakers. The private barrel auction offers a rare opportunity to acquire distinctive, exceptional lots not available elsewhere.

DETAILS:      Known as the region’s most prestigious charity wine event, the Auction of Washington Wines features events in different locations throughout the state. The iconic weekend kicks off August 18 with the Private Barrel Auction, followed by Picnic. Funds raised at the event series benefit uncompensated care, cancer clinical trials and autism services at Seattle Children’s Hospital and Viticulture and Enology Research at Washington State University.

Day Schedule:

10:30 am – 12:00 pm, Novelty Hill-Januik Winery
Review and walk-around tasting of Washington’s highly-rated 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon presented by Bob Betz, MW.

12:00 pm – 1:00 pm, Novelty Hill-Januik Winery
Luncheon prepared by Novelty Hill-Januik Winery Chef Seth Fernald

1:30 pm – 4:00 pm, Chateau Ste. Michelle
Barrel tasting of wine lots with featured Winemakers & Live Barrel Auction with Auctioneer Ursula Hermacinski

4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Chateau Ste. Michelle lawn (optional)
Picnic with the Winemakers

Participating wineries include: Abeja, Andrew Will Winery, Betz Family Winery, Canvasback by Duckhorn, Col Solare, DeLille Cellars, Dusted Valley, Fidélitas, Force Majeure Vineyard, Gramercy Cellars, L’Ecole No 41, Long Shadows Vintners, Novelty Hill-Januik Winery, Pepper Bridge Winery, Quilceda Creek, Va Piano Vineyards and Woodward Canyon Winery.
