“Abstract Views” – A Perfect Pairing of Art, Music & Wine at Madrigal’s Sausalito Tasting Gallery

 Abstract and Synesthetic Art Continues Bay Area California Artist Series

july 8 abstract artJune 21, 2016, Sausalito, CA – On Friday, July 8th, Madrigal Family Winery’s Sausalito Tasting Salon & Gallery will open “Abstract Views”, the latest exhibit in its Bay Area Art and Wine series. The exhibition features the work of painters Yari Ostovany & George Sanen, and is curated by Shiva Pakdel. An opening reception will be held on Friday, July 8th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Del Sol Band (Charity Goodin-Sanen, singer, Doug Morton, keyboards, Rob Fordyce, bass, Brad McKeague, drums) will also perform throughout the evening. The exhibit is on view from July 6 – 27.

“We continue to seek out local artists and performers, who, like us up at the winery in Calistoga, are committed to a craft and to creating a personal vision and enjoying life”, commented Chris Madrigal, Madrigal Family Winery’s Founder & President. “What a perfect way to spend a summer afternoon or evening, sipping a great glass of wine, looking at art and listening to music.”

Yari Ostovany is a San Francisco Bay Area based abstract painter who brings together Eastern and Western sensibilities and approaches to abstract art together in his work. His work has been shown widely in the US, Europe and the Middle East and is in the permanent collection of the New Britain Museum of American Art in New Britain, Connecticut and Pasargad Bank Museum in Tehran, Iran. http://yariostovany.com/

George Sanen is a Marin County based Artist that is recognized as one of the foremost artists in the world that derive his entire work purely from Synesthesia. Two of the Artist senses (hearing and eye-sight) are permanently connected in a condition known by Neurologists and Scientists as Colored-Hearing Synesthesia . Charity Goodin, singer

Vocalist, Recording Artist, Composer, National Song Writers. Award Winning Lyricist, Charity Goodin-Sanen enjoys the creativity of her work. Bossa Novas, Sambas, R&B, Jazz, Fusion, Rock, Gospel, and Ethnic music fields. She is able to bring all of her experience into play with Del Sol. Influenced by Ella Fitzgerald, Julia Fordham, Nancy Wilson, Bonnie Raitt, Ann & Nancy Wilson, Pearl Bailey, Sarah Vaugh, Annie Lenox, Dean Martin, Dizzy Gilespie, India, Cela Cruz, Marc Anthony, Marc Antoine, Jesse Cook, Eliane Elias, Carlos Jobim, and all the fantastic flavors of latin jazz, samba and salsa!

Doug Morton, keyboards

Over 30 years in the Bay Area, Doug has played with “everybody”. Along with his keyboard chops and his varied work in many bands, Doug is also a professional trumpeter and brass player, playing legit style with symphonies, show music with the likes of Beach Blanket Babylon and jazz with Marcus Shelby, The Brass Mafia, CARMA and many others.

Rob Fordyce, bass

Rob is a bass player who grew up in the multi-dimensional musical community of the Bay Area. He has played with Sam Andrew & Dave Getz of Big Brother and the Holding Company, GeGe Gonaway {Mariah Carey’s band}, jazz great Michael Aragon, Lenny Williams from Tower of Power, John Hartman of the Doobie Brothers, and Mark Robertson of Cairo. Rob loves to play for live audiences and brings a fun, positive and creative energy through his playing and singing. He plays 6-string electric, fretless and upright bass. Rob currently teaches with Crossroads Music and teaches private music lessons.

Brad McKeague, drums

Brad McKeague has been performing on drums in the Bay Area for 30 years. He studied with Chuck Brown for 14 years, played in the UC Berkeley Jazz Ensemble with Susan Muscarella and is versatile in a variety of musical styles. Brad has played with pianist Jef Labes, singer Shana Morrison, and many Bay Area local bands including Colorblind, The Ring, David Starck, The Golden Gate Brass Band, and Walt Tolleson Big Band. Among Brad’s musical influences are Chick Corea, Joshua Redman, Arturo Sandoval, and Dave Weckl.
