Importer Winesellers, Ltd. Distributes the Artisanal Wines Nationwide

Winesellers LtdVinum Cellars celebrates 20 years with the 2016 harvest and the artisanal California producer remains committed to working with dedicated growers to ensure that all wines are made with the best fruit. Founders Richard Bruno and Chris Condos see to it that each wine is handcrafted from single vineyards and produced in a small-lot philosophy. The wines are distributed around the country with the help of Illinois-based importer Winesellers, Ltd.

“It’s interesting how some people view us as a large California winery, when we only produce 25,000 cases per year,” explained Chris Condos.  “I think we’ve had some good fortune with placement of our product, which may create the illusion that our wines are available everywhere.”

Of the 25,000 cases per year, Vinum Cellars has some products that are limited to just 250 cases.   The largest product tops out at 5,000 cases annually.   The company focuses on a high quality to price relationship, which is achieved by working with top growers and implementing a grape to the bottle philosophy.

“All of our grapes are grown on single vineyards in Monterey, Paso Robles, Clarksburg, El Dorado, Sonoma and the Napa Valley,” said Richard Bruno. “The grapes are sourced from the appellations in which they’re meant to grow, and from high quality grapes results high quality wine.”

In other efforts to grow the company, Vinum Cellars started working with importer Winesellers, Ltd., a family-owned company that in 2015 was awarded the Wine Enthusiast Magazine Wine Star Award for Importer of the Year.  The companies are aligned in their values and both place focus on building lasting relationships and creating quality product.  Neither family plans to quit any time soon.

“I am proud to be the next generation of Winesellers, Ltd. alongside my brother Jordan as we continue building the company our father founded 38 years ago,” said Vice President Adam Sager. “The Wine Star Award is a testament to his tireless work over the years and his commitment to our employees, suppliers and wholesalers – many of whom have been in place since 1978.”

Vinum Cellars is excited to be working with another family wine company in Winesellers, Ltd.  The importer assists with sales, putting their strong, existing sales team to work to maximize exposure for the boutique winery.  Unloading some of that burden allows Vinum Cellars to place sole focus on making great, handcrafted wine.
