Three entrants will compete for $5,000; Tickets on sale now

Gloria FerrerSonoma, CA (October 3, 2016) — From bacon, blue and barbecue to hand-cased seafood sausages and crispy bok choy, three talented individuals brought their cooking creativity and pairing abilities to the forefront, landing them a spot in the final cook-off in this year’s “Glorious Bites Challenge“ hosted by Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards.  The finalists rose to the top at three highly contested Regional Semi-Final cooking events held last month in Los Angeles, Washington (D.C.), and Austin where they proved that one of their recipes could be considered the most glorious appetizer that best pairs with the iconic sparkling wine producer’s Sonoma Brut.

“We were blown away by the creativity of our entrants and it should be a very exciting and delicious final event on Saturday, October 15th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the winery in Sonoma,” says Gloria Ferrer Vice President of Marketing, Eva Bertran.  The 2016 finalists and recipes competing for $5,000 include:

All appetizers will be judged on originality, taste, and ability to pair with the Gloria Ferrer Sonoma Brut.  In addition to “Glorious Bites” Keynote Judge and Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company Executive Chef Jennifer Luttrell, final event judging panelists will include Christopher Sawyer, sommelier, educator, writer and founder of SawyerSomm.com; and Sara Deseran, a longtime San Francisco-based food writer and the editor-at-large for San Francisco magazine.  The cook-off will be emceed by award-winning author, speaker, wine consultant, and television host Leslie Sbrocco.

Tickets cost $45 per person and include all the live “Iron Chef” style cook-off excitement plus a selection of appetizers, wine, and a cooking demonstration from Luttrell featuring Point Reyes Farmstead cheese.
