Sonoma, California — February 23, 2017 — Don Sebastiani & Sons, the Sonoma-based, family-owned producer of innovative wine and food products, announces the reinvigoration of The Crusher portfolio of super-premium California wines with a new label design and new California label designation.

The Crusher borrows its name from the first precious moments in the winemaking process when newly harvested grapes meet the winery’s crusher apparatus and begin their transformation into classically complex and balanced wines.

The Crusher line-up includes Chardonnay, Merlot, Red Blend, Pinot Noir, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and the debut of Unoaked Chardonnay, whose stainless steel and malolactic fermentation give it a delicate-yet-opulent mouthfeel and a food-friendly plushness. All Crusher wines are sourced from premier California vineyards and is each hand-crafted to be food-friendly, approachable, and true to each wine’s varietal characteristics.

The Crusher is one of 14 wine brands in the Don Sebastiani & Sons wine portfolio, supporting the Sebastiani family’s vision of creating “Happy Hour at Home” opportunities. Recently, Don Sebastiani & Sons has introduced product lines complementary to its core wine portfolio, including premium, seasoned nuts; organic, flavored sparkling water; and three 100% Blue Weber gave Tequilas grown and hand-made in Jalisco, Mexico.

Current releases bearing The Crusher label include:

2015 Unoaked Chardonnay, made from 100% California Chardonnay, fermented and aged in stainless steel, with aromas of melon, pineapple and stone fruit, and flavors of yeasty dough, apple pastry and baked caramel.

2015 Chardonnay, made from 100% California Chardonnay, with aromas of applesauce, butterscotch and baked caramel and a soft, opulent mouthfeel.

2014 Red Blend, aged for 16 months on French and American oak; aromas of tart cherry, raspberry and toasted cedar, with flavors of red fruit, boysenberry and red cherry.

2014 Merlot, aged for ten months on French and American oak; aromas of raspberry, roasted peppers and dark cherry, with intense flavors of red plum, caramel and cranberry.

2014 Petite Sirah, aged 14 months on French, American and Hungarian oak; aromas of cherry, vanilla cola, blackberry, and teriyaki, with flavors of blueberry, blackberry, and dark chocolate.

2014 Pinot Noir, aged ten months on 100% French oak, with aromas of cranberry, cherry, and warm spices, and flavors of plum, tart cherry, and savory herbs.

2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 16 months on American and French oak, with aromas of grilled  plum and cranberry preserves, and flavors of dark cherry, toffee, smoked bacon, and pomegranate.
