New Trade Publication Targets the Adult Beverage Industry

Santa Rosa, Calif. – Sonoma Media Investments has launched Spirited magazine, a national trade publication aimed at wine, beer, distilled spirits, and hard cider producers, suppliers, and distributors. Debuting with a March/April 2017 issue, Spirited will publish six times per year and will follow with a robust website (www.spiritedbiz.com), eNewletters, and trade events.

The idea for Spirited came from the simple observation that, in recent years, the adult beverage industry has blended. There’s crossover and interest among all sectors, with producers in all fields experimenting with others, whether casually or on a production level.

“Northern California is well known for its entrepreneurship and new ideas which are thriving in the adult beverage industry and resonating across the country,” says Steve Falk, Sonoma Media Investments CEO. “Spirited magazine will shine a light on this rapidly growing industry with the goal of becoming an indispensable source for the latest trends and developments.”

“Much like the industries we’re covering, Spirited is committed to providing a high-quality product in beautifully designed packaging,” says Michael Zivyak, president and publisher. “The highly qualified audience of C-Level executives are going to truly enjoy reading and learning from this publication.”

Spirited will share stories, techniques, trends and research in a way that entertains and informs, advancing the conversation and giving those in the adult beverage community a way to connect and learn from one another,” says Alexandra Russell, editor-in-chief. “Today, it’s about collaboration, not competition.”

In its own collaboration, Spirited is affiliated with Wine Competitions Management & Productions, which runs well-known and respected beverage competitions, including The Press Democrat North Coast Wine Challenge, the International East Meets West Wine Challenge, the International Women’s Wine Competition, the Harvest Challenge and (new in 2017) the Craft Distillers Spirit Competition. Each contest is carefully designed to appeal to a niche market based on its regionality or style of judging.
