St. Helena, CA (March 24, 2017) – After successfully co-launching and managing Taken Wine Company, a series of brands inspired by a desire to introduce wine to his own generation, the time has come for Napa vintner Josh Phelps to set out on his own to start a new wine company. Phelps has sold his interest in Taken Wine Co. to Trinchero Family Estates, the company that produced the brand.

Phelps is a St. Helena native and grew up in the wine business. His father, Chris Phelps, is an internationally respected winemaker, who began his winemaking career in Bordeaux and spent years at Dominus, Caymus and other notable Napa wineries. Chris Phelps now makes his own wine, Ad Vivum, and is consulting winemaker to other prestigious wine clients.

Now that he is forging his own entrepreneurial path, Josh intends to continue to produce wines under the guidance of his father.

Josh’s wine project will be based in St. Helena.
