The iconic Annie Green Springs brand of wine, one of the most popular and best selling wines in America in the 1970’s and a favorite on college campuses across the Country, will be returning to the market, rolling out this Winter. Richard Kanakaris, a 38 year wine industry veteran, who recently brought back the historic TIPO wine brand (in conjunction with Stama Winery in Lodi) announced the return of Annie Green Springs.
“Annie is back!” said Kanakaris. “Many college students in the 1970’s have very fond memories of Annie Green Springs’ fruity flavored and spritzy wines and now a new younger generation will be able to see why Annie was loved by so many Americans.” “Also,” Kanakaris said, “Baby Boomers can also bring back their fond memories when they revisit the new Annie wines.”
The Annie Green Springs wines will have the traditional Annie style of being intensely fruity, light in alcohol, slightly sweet and fizzy, just the kind of refreshing wines younger consumers are enjoying in great numbers.
Annie will be packaged in 750 ML bottles with a Stelvin screw cap finish and vivid eye catching labels. “These fresh, delicious, refreshing wines are going to be huge in the marketplace,” said Kanakaris, who has sold over three million cases of wine in his career through various wineries he has either owned, managed or co managed. More details will be forthcoming soon.

It would appear the public demand for this product is underwhelming. This post is two years old next week, and …:::crickets::: since then.
Annie Green Springs, Boone’s Farm, Yago Sangria, and Acadama Plum wine were all the rage in the early ’70s throughout the military. If everyone was broke just before payday, a group would pool their nickles and dimes to get enough together to get a gallon jug of Red Mountain!
That is how I got my CB handle , I drank plum hollow wine when I met my husband and That was my handle but when he met me he told me I wasn’t plum hollow I was plumb crazy, that was in 1976!
Apple Annie
I was rudely ejected from a Yes concert in 1975 due to AGS wine. Must have been the Relayer tour. First time I had ever seen a major act from BEHIND the stage lol
Great memory. I was able to sneak my first wine, a bottle of Annie Green Peach Creek into the Alice Cooper Billion Dollar Babies concert in Hershey. There was a barrel full of confiscated items just outside of the entrance where they checked each person as they entered. I had a denim purse with two zippers and they didn’t notice I had only opened the one side for them to check. That was in 1973.
Please, tell me Plum Hollow is going to be back? Best, best …absolutely the best!
I use to drink this wine in Germany all the time. It was really great, in the 70s
I love Annie Green Springs Easy Days and Hard Nights..
