NAPA, CA (August 31, 2017) – On Saturday, August 26, the Napa Valley Grapegrowers (NVG) celebrated its 10th annual Harvest STOMP with a sold-out crowd of 610 guests, who raised a record-breaking $1.98 million dollars net, a 2,131% increase over the first STOMP.  This year’s event was hosted by Round Pond proprietors Ryan and Miles MacDonnell, at their historic red barn in the middle of cabernet sauvignon vineyards in Rutherford.

“We are so thrilled with the results of this year’s Harvest STOMP.  It was an honor to support this worthy cause and bring the event back to its roots at Round Pond, where we celebrated 10 years of the organization’s incredible growth and success.  The impact that the Napa Valley Grapegrowers has had on the Napa Valley’s winegrowing community, bettering the lives of growers and farmworkers alike, is truly remarkable,” said Ryan MacDonnell.

Kicking off the evening in the historic pole barn, attendees enjoyed a reception hosted by Napa Valley’s premier growers, vineyard owners, and vintners, all sharing a commitment to agricultural preservation. The reception also showcased food from local farm-to-table purveyors, art installations by FARM Napa Valley and Mechanics Bank, and live music by the California Honeydrops.

Each year, the auction culminates in a spirited “Fund-a-Need” for the Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation. To date, the support from STOMP has allowed the Farmworker Foundation to offer education and professional development opportunities for more than 12,500 vineyard workers and their families. The organization is proudly the first of its kind in the United States, providing programs focusing on advanced leadership and professional development, viticultural skills, health and safety, financial planning, English language opportunities, navigating the American school system, and much more.

Reservations for STOMP are highly limited and sell out within minutes of their announcement. 2018 reservations will be taken in May 2018 through the Napa Valley Grapegrowers. To learn more about Harvest STOMP visit our website or to view photos from the event log on to our Facebook page.
