Lifehouse Announces Details for 28th Annual Great Chefs and Wineries Gala, April 21

Fundraiser Supporting Individuals with Developmental Disabilities will Feature More Than 50 Renowned Chefs and Wineries

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (March 15, 2018) – Lifehouse, a Marin County-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support services to individuals with developmental disabilities, has announced details for its 28th Annual Great Chefs and Wineries gala to be held on Saturday, April 21 from 5:30 – 11 p.m. at Peacock Gap Golf Club in San Rafael, California.  The event will be hosted by Rock Legend Huey Lewis, a long-time supporter of the organization and Honorary Chair of the gala.  The fundraiser will feature culinary delights and fine wines from more than 50 of the Bay Area’s most renowned chefs and wineries.  The evening will be emceed by Betty Yu, a prominent reporter for San Francisco’s CBS television station.

“We’re so thankful for the support of Huey Lewis, the wineries, restaurants, sponsors, staff members and volunteers that help make this event so successful year after year,” said Nancy Dow Moody, Lifehouse President and CEO.  “It’s their support that allows Lifehouse to continue providing quality services that enable the people we serve to live as independently as possible in our community.”

The gala festivities will begin in an outdoor tent where guests will dine on small plates expertly prepared by chefs from 25 of the Bay Area’s best restaurants.  Guests will enjoy the delectable bites accompanied by an impressive lineup of more than 25 elite wineries.  The event will also include a silent and live auction offering alluring trips, wonderful gifts and extraordinary wines, and a highly-anticipated musical/dance performance will take place starring individuals served by Lifehouse.  Great Chefs and Wineries is Lifehouse’s major fundraising event of the year, with last year’s event raising over half a million dollars for the organization.  To support those affected by the North Bay fires in 2017, three percent of the proceeds of this year’s event will be donated to the North Bay Fire Relief Fund.

Restaurants participating in this year’s Great Chefs and Wineries event include Balboa Café SF, Hotel Vitale’s Americano, Boca Tavern, Buckeye Roadhouse, Copita, El Paseo, girl & the fig, IL Davide, Il Fornaio, Insalata’s, Left Bank Brasserie, Marinitas, Osteria Stellina, “The Clubhouse” at Peacock Gap, Perry’s Larkspur, Piatti, Piazza D’Angelo, Playa, Poggio Trattoria, Rustic Bakery Saylor’s, Sushi Ran, and Wildfox Restaurant.  Marin Cheese Company and Taste Kitchen & Table will provide their specialties in the dining room.

Participating wineries this year include Benovia Winery, Brooks Note, Duckhorn Vineyards, Dutton Goldfield, Estate 1856, Frank Family Vineyards, Freeman Vineyard & Winery, Grgich Hills Estate, Hall Wines, Hartford Family Winery, Keenan Winery, Kenwood Vineyards, Kosta Browne Winery, Linked Vineyards, Merry Edwards Winery, Mumm Napa, Navarro Vineyards, Papapietro Perry, Peay Vineyards, Pride Mountain Vineyards, Revana Family Vineyard, Schweiger Vineyards, Silver Oak & Twomey Cellars, Sojourn Cellars, Thirty-Seven Winery, Three Sticks Wines, and Wilson of Dry Creek. Mumm Napa is also pouring their champagne.

Reservations for Great Chefs and Wineries are required.  Tickets are $350 per person and table of 10 sponsorships start at $4,000.  Tickets are available at www.gcw2018.gesture.com or by calling (415) 526-5300.  All proceeds from the event benefit Lifehouse. 

Lifehouse provides support services to more than 300 individuals with developmental disabilities in Sonoma, Marin, and San Francisco counties that help them become productive members of the community.  The organization began as a parent-led effort 64 years ago and is now one of the Bay Area’s most respected nonprofit organizations, dedicated to improving the quality of life of the people it serves through life skills training, community integration, advocacy and referral information.  Supported Living, independent living homes, intermediate care facilities, individualized day support services, assessment, recreation and vacation travel for adult residents, as well as teen recreation integration programs, autism specialists, and in-home support for families are among Lifehouse’s many offerings.
