WINE WOMEN hosts the next installment of their Advanced Wine Exploration series, “The Inside Story of Buying Wine for a Wine Shop…in Wine Country,” on May 9th at Sonoma’s Best in Sonoma, from 6 to 8 p.m. Primarily targeting sales and marketing professionals in the wine industry, guest speaker and Wine Director of Sonoma’s Best, Todd Jolly will lead guests through a guided tasting, focusing on the key factors that go into choosing the wines to sell in a wine shop.

About the Event

As attendees enjoy Sonoma’s Best’s wines and appetizers in its garden patio, guest speaker Todd Jolly will teach guests how he selects wines that will sell in this family-owned shop in the heart of wine country. Todd will address how he balances the wine demands for hyper local, North Bay, U.S. Domestic, International, by customer or winemaker request, and staff selection wines, with examples of each.

Featured producers at the event will include Bedrock Wine Company, Canihan Family Wines, Banshee Wines, Walt Wines, Seven Falls Cellars (WA), Bodegas Maximo Abete (SP), and Louis Roederer Champagne (FR).

About Todd Jolly

Wine Director and Wine Club Manager, Sonoma’s Best

Todd’s wine career encompasses all aspects of the industry including distribution, supply and now buying wine for retail, wine club and online sales. He is a Certified Specialist of Wine, Certified Sake Professional and recently passed the Introductory Sommelier Course with plans of taking the Certified Sommelier Exam later this year. Prior to his role at Sonoma’s Best, Todd was a Business Development Manager for Ste. Michelle Wine Estates in Portland, OR. Todd holds his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Oregon and has completed Sonoma State’s Online Certificate in Wine Business Management.
