Inspired by the spirit of free thinking revolutionary Bluecoat soldiers who established their own high standards of excellence and independence in America, Philadelphia Distilling, of Philadelphia, PA is introducing a new Bluecoat Elderflower Gin Expression, it was announced by Andrew Auwerda, president and founder of the craft distillery.
To help create a beautiful, dynamic and innovative package with a distinctive overall appearance, engaging eye appeal and prominent shelf appearance, it called upon Saxco International, LLC, of Horsham, PA, world-wide packaging specialists for the wine, spirts, beer and food industries and it vast global resource network. “Our role was to help create an attractive new turnkey package within a short turnaround time frame that would enable Philadelphia Distilling to bring the new gin expression into the marketplace,” says Chris Tubertini, director of craft spirits for the Eastern United States and Canada for Saxco International, who worked closely with Auwerda and his product design team.
To move the project forward, Saxco sourced and supplied a high quality, private mold acid etched 750 ML bottle with a long neck and rounded shoulders from a reliable overseas supplier. “The idea was to create a bottle which was commensurate in quality and appearance with the new gin’s unique, hand crafted smooth and invigorating taste,” explains Tubertini. Working with Philadelphia Distilling’s designer, Isabelle DaRold, of New York City, Saxco also arranged for the glass supplier to apply the custom designed, blue, white and gold decals to the front and back of the bottle making for a turnkey solution to the package design. To finish off the new package Saxco sourced and supplied an attractive light wood top synthetic cork assembly from a time tested quality supplier in Italy. The bar top closure was over-fitted with a heat seal shrink sleeve.
According to Auwerda, “Bluecoat Ederflower Gin Expression utilizes a custom copper pot still and captures genuine innovation in batch distilled gin. Handcrafted using a proprietary blend of organic botanicals, Bluecoat delivers an unparalleled smooth, rich and invigorating taste satisfying those who appreciate simple and elegant luxury.”
“In addition,” he notes, “we infuse Bluecoat American Gin with Elderflower after distillation for a unique new expression. The Elderflower adds light floral notes and a heady fragrance to the spirit.”
Bluecoat Elderflower Gin Expression is 47 percent alcohol by volume and 94 proof. It’s being targeted at American gin connoisseurs from 21 to 45-years of age.
