Star-Gazing, Falconry Demonstration, Music Highlight Event

September 10, 2018, Napa, CA – Bouchaine Vineyards will celebrate Harvest 2018 with an exclusive dining, wine-pairing and entertainment event on September 29.

The evening begins with a glass of Bouchaine Vineyards Vin Gris upon arrival followed by a demonstration by well-known falconer Rebecca Rosen. She will send her Gyr-Prairie falcon into the skies over Bouchaine’s Carneros vineyard to swoop in large circles making its presence known to grape-eating birds that might be in the vicinity. This is a practice repeated daily throughout the harvest season to move birds along their way and out of the vineyards. No birds are harmed in the process. Rebecca and her birds will be available during the event for photographs with guests.

Dinner will be prepared by Chef Bev Gannon of the Hali’imaile General Store and Gannon’s Restaurant on Maui. Bev Gannon is chef/owner of not only Hali’imaile General Store in Upcountry and  Gannon’s on the Wailea Emerald Gold Golf Course, but is also owner of Celebrations Catering, the longest-running catering company on Maui. Bev was nominated in 2004 for the prestigious James Beard Award for “Best Chef Hawaii/Pacific Northwest.” As Corporate Chef of Hawaiian Airlines, her food was named “Best Food in the Air in North America” by readers of Condé Nast Traveler (2003, 2004 and 2006.) Bev has also made numerous television appearances including NBC’s Today Show, The CBS Morning Show, and multiple shows on cable’s popular Food Network. She was further honored as one of the Great Chefs of Hawai‘i, a series on the Discovery Channel.
