MORGAN HILL, Calif. September 24, 2018 — Guglielmo Winery is pleased to welcome another 4th generation to the team. Gena Guglielmo joins the family tradition. “We are beyond excited to have Gena as our tasting room manager,” says Gene Guglielmo, co-owner and Gena’s father.

After a year abroad, Gena found a deeper love and appreciation for her family’s rich history, hard work and loyalty to the tight-knit community in which she was raised. She headed back to sunny California to settle in Morgan Hill, where she can work alongside her family and reconnect with her childhood community, while currently serving as the Guglielmo Tasting Room Manager.

Gena graduated from University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in sociology. She then moved to Boston and worked with children facing emotional, mental and behavioral issues. Fulfilling her desire to live near the water, Gena moved onto a boat and began working as the general manager of a Boston Harbor marina. However, after several frigid New England winters while living on her boat, her plans changed once again. Gena decided to follow the sun to the other side of the world and explore some different continents. Her first stop was New Zealand, before migrating to Indonesia, where she obtained her yoga teacher certification. She spent most of her time in Australia, where she managed an inner-city café as a certified barista.

“It feels great to rejoin my family and continue the tradition. I’m excited to begin this new chapter,” says Gena.

About Guglielmo Winery:

A Family Wine Making Tradition in the Santa Clara Valley Since 1925. Guglielmo Winery – a fourth generation, family owned winery produces a wide variety of award-winning varietals from more than 80 acres of Santa Clara Valley estate vineyards, as well as from other premium winegrowing regions within California.

Today, Guglielmo Winery (gool-yell-mo) produces nearly 40,000 cases annually under three different labels, Guglielmo Private Reserve, Tre, and our oldest label, Emile’s. Although the winery has grown, we still abide by the family philosophy to produce natural, quality wines to share with family and friends. The family continues to oversee every phase of the winemaking process.

“Wine is a traditional part of our culture and one of life’s simple pleasures to be shared with family and friends.”
