Walla Walla, Wash. (December 3, 2018) – Tamarack Cellars is celebrating 20 years of award-winning winemaking this year with its 2013 Emerald Release Cabernet Sauvignon.

Emeralds are a traditional gift for 20th wedding anniversaries, symbolizing strength, prosperity, and cheer—characteristics that are reflected in this limited-edition reserve wine.

Blended from 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot and aged for four years in 100% new French oak, the Emerald Release is an exquisite wine that can be enjoyed over the upcoming holiday season, but also has the structure to be cellared for decades. It is made with fruit from all the vineyards Tamarack uses for its vineyard-designated Reserve bottlings, including Seven Hills Vineyard, Sagemoor Vineyards, Ciel du Cheval Vineyard and Tapteil Vineyard.

Tamarack winemaker and Pacific Northwest native Danny Gordon began at the winery in 1999, just a year after it was founded. With the 2013 Emerald Release ($100), his goal was to create a wine that honors Tamarack’s signature winemaking style while showcasing the distinct terroir of the Columbia Valley.

“This wine is expertly selected from the top barrels of the most outstanding vineyards Tamarack sources and is crafted drawing from the many years of winemaking and vineyard management experience at Tamarack,” noted Gordon. “The entire process of making this wine was time-intensive with no barriers to what was allowed or possible. A wine unique in style and composition to every other wine created at Tamarack, this is truly special both in approach and finished product.”

The Tamarack 2013 Emerald Release Cabernet Sauvignon is available for purchase online at https://www.tamarackcellars.com/ and at the wineries tasting room in Walla Walla, Washington.

Tamarack Cellars was founded in 1998 by Ron and Jamie Coleman, with the winery’s first vintage consisting of 300 cases of Merlot. A year later Danny Gordon began working for Ron and over the years, took over the winemaking duties with the official title of “Maker of the Wine.” Danny continues to excel in consistently crafting award-winning, varietally expressive wines sourced from some of the best vineyards in Washington.
