Santa Barbara Vintners Foundation Presents $1Million to Direct Relief

Santa Barbara VintnersThe 2016 Santa Barbara Wine Auction, a joint effort by the Santa Barbara Vintners Foundation and Direct Relief, was an extraordinary event which exceeded all expectations, and the funds raised totaled over $1 million!  As a result of this most successful fundraising event in Direct Relief’s history – the Santa Barbara Vintner’s Foundation (SBVF) former President, Jenny Williamson Doré, presented a check in the amount of One Million & Twenty-Two Thousand Dollars to Direct Relief’s President & CEO, Thomas Tighe, yesterday at the Hitching Post II Restaurant.

“Because of their extraordinary efficiency, Direct Relief will leverage this money into more than $30 million in medical aid,” says Vintners Foundation president, Steve Fennell of Sanford Winery. “The vintners are proud to support the efforts of this outstanding organization headquartered right here in Santa Barbara County.”  Since 2000, the Santa Barbara Vintners have raised more than $4 million dollars for Direct Relief, which translates into over $100 million in medical aid.
