Bryan Weil to replace Lynn Penner-Ash as Head Winemaker of Alexana Estate Vineyard and Winery

Newberg, Ore – Alexana Estate Vineyard and Winery announces the promotion of Bryan Weil to the position of Head Winemaker. Weil, who joined Alexana as Associate Winemaker in 2012, will be replacing Lynn Penner-Ash who previously held the position of Winemaker since the company’s inaugural vintage in 2006. In his new role, he will have complete oversight of all winemaking operations and lead the development of Alexana’s portfolio of estate grown Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Gris.

“We are thrilled to promote Bryan to the position of Head Winemaker,” said John Gabelhausen, President of Revana Family Vineyards. “During his tenure he has displayed an undivided commitment to producing world class wines. We are confident that his leadership and skill as a winemaker will continue to increase the quality of Alexana’s wines for the foreseeable future.”

An Oregon native, Weil holds a bachelor’s degree in enology and viticulture from Oregon State University as well as an associate’s degree in culinary arts. His vast experiences in both the vineyard and cellar span across three continents with work at Alexana in Oregon; Hogue Cellars in Washington; Kim Crawford in New Zealand and Corazon del Sol in Argentina.

“It has been such an amazing experience to work at Alexana and have the opportunity to work with Lynn to construct the new estate winery and craft these world class wines the last five vintages” says Weil. “I have been very fortunate to have Lynn as my mentor and friend, and have learned so much from her. I look forward to continuing the traditions of excellence that she has put in place from the beginning and can’t wait to see what the future holds here at Alexana.”
