winesecretsSebastopol, CA – July 16, 2013 – American Winesecrets, LLC. (Winesecrets), North America’s leading wine filtration company, has hired Luke Bohanan as a Production Winemaker at its Sebastopol, CA winery. Mr. Bohanan is a recent graduate of University of California at Davis where he earned a Masters degree in Enology.  He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Tulane.   A former Army officer, Bohanan provides Winesecrets with proven leadership skills from tours of duty in Iraq and specific expertise in wine filtration and sensory science gained during his Masters research at the University of California at Davis.

Born in Vicenza Italy to American parents living abroad, Luke spent his formative years learning classic Italian cooking from his family and tasting through wines at the dinner table.  In his five years of service as a Combat Engineer Officer, Captain Bohanan split time between leading troops on tours of duty in Iraq with tours to the European country side surrounding his unit’s home in Bamberg Germany. His passion for wine and the wine industry grew out of these experiences. “Winesecrets is a unique opportunity for me,” says Bohanan. “The company allows me combine my passion for wine and fellow veterans along with my uniquely diverse background in science and military leadership.”
