Napa Valley Vintners5/12/2016St. Helena, CA – The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) nonprofit wine trade association announced today that its first-ever Premiere Napa Valley Hong Kong auction with Christie’s will take place on Thursday, November 3, 2016.

The 25 producers to be featured include Amuse Bouche Winery, Antica Napa Valley – Antinori Family Wine Estate, Blackbird Vineyards, Cakebread Cellars, Cardinale, Chateau Boswell Winery, Dalla Valle Vineyards, Darioush, Duckhorn Vineyards, Favia Erickson, HALL, Honig Estate Vineyards & Winery, Hourglass, Joseph Phelps Vineyards, Pine Ridge Vineyards, Raymond Vineyards, Rombauer Vineyards, Shafer Vineyards, Silverado Vineyards, Spottswoode Estate Vineyard & Winery, St. Supéry Estate Vineyards & Winery, Staglin Family Vineyard, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, Viader Vineyards & Winery and Yao Family Wines.

All of the wines to be sold will be produced under the NVV’s Premiere Napa Valley label, an ultra-boutique portfolio of unique wines crafted by vintner members of the nonprofit trade association. All the wines offered will be produced exclusively for this sale, making the winning bidders the sole owners of each 60-bottle offering. “This is a terrific opportunity for collectors in Asia to obtain some of Napa Valley’s rarest wines,” said Emma Swain, chair of the NVV board of directors and CEO of St. Supéry Estate Vineyards & Winery. “We’re honored for the chance to share these unique wines, which represent the pinnacle of quality and innovation in Napa Valley winemaking.”

The NVV is hosting several preview tastings in advance of the November auction, including:

  • An exclusive press conference during the upcoming VINEXPO Hong Kong. Led by Master of Wine Debra Meiburg, Simon Tam of Christie’s and a select group of Napa Valley winemakers, this event will include a tasting of previously released Premiere Napa Valley wines, providing insights to the pedigree of these wines and raising their profile in Asia ahead of November’s auction.
  • On November 3, several of the vintners participating in the Christie’s sale will travel to Hong Kong for a preview of the wines being offered before they go up for auction later that day.
  • Additional events are also being organized for potential buyers in Shanghai and Beijing during an upcoming NVV China market tour taking place this September.

To request an invitation to the November 3 sale, contact Jennifer Lo at the Christie’s Hong Kong office at +852.2978.6761. Proceeds from the Hong Kong sale will support the NVV’s mission to promote, protect and enhance the Napa Valley appellation.
