Focus on Estate-Grown Fruit and Minimalist Winemaking Techniques Results in An Exceptional Wine

Santa Rosa, CA (November 14, 2017) – Atze’s Corner 2015 Estate Grown Barossa Valley Shiraz has been selected to be one of the Wine Enthusiast Top 100 wines for 2017, being awarded the #87 position and a 92-point rating.

Since 1847 the Kalleske family has been farming grapes in South Australia’s Barossa Valley; this experience and expertise across six generations, combined with the traditional artisan winemaking philosophy of Andy Kalleske, a sixth generation vigneron, results in silky-rich, fruit-laden wines.

“We’re honored that our 2015 Shiraz has been recognized as one of the Top Wines for 2017 by the Wine Enthusiast. Our family’s commitment to grape growing for over 171 years in the Barossa Valley proves to us that great wines are crafted in the vineyard,” enthuses Andy Kalleske.

Atze’s Corner Barossa Valley Shiraz and GSM Red Blend are marketed and distributed in the U.S. by Wine Trees USA, part of AWDirect. Bruce Cunningham, founder and general manager, states, “this esteemed award from the Wine Enthusiast supports Andy’s artisan approach to winemaking combined with the family’s multi-generational commitment to grape growing in the Barossa Valley; it’s an honor and pleasure to represent these wonderful wines in the U.S. market.”

About Atze’s Corner – www.atzescornerwines.com.au:

Atze’s Corner vigneron Andy Kalleske is the sixth successive generation of his family to be involved in grape growing and winemaking in the Australia’s iconic Barossa Valley. With that experience comes the knowledge of where the best grapes grow, and how to nurture the fragile old vines to give of their best. The cornerstone of this artisan winery lies in several amazing vineyards which are tended by Andy’s parents, Barb and John Kalleske. Shiraz vines planted in 1912 and 1951 adjacent to the winery, a stone’s throw east of Nuriootpa on the Barossa’s valley floor and close by at Ebenezer, a sub-region of the Barossa renowned for its Shiraz wines, are the backbone for their award-winning Shiraz and GSM Red Blend.
