Winemaker Josh Phelps Unveils Fourth Wine From his Napa-Based Label that Launched in 2018

St. Helena, CA (September 18, 2018) – Founder and Winemaker Josh Phelps is proud to announce the release of his fourth wine from Grounded Wine Co., with the release of 2016 Public Radio (SRP $25), a Grenache-based red wine from West Paso Robles, CA, comprised of 65% Grenache, 27% Syrah and 9% Petite Sirah. Based in St. Helena, CA, Grounded Wine Co. also produces Steady State (SRP $65), a Napa Cabernet Sauvignon blend; Collusion (SRP $22), a red blend from Columbia Valley, WA; and most recently, Space Age (SRP $20), a Paso Robles Grenache-based rosé released in July, 2018.

With yields slightly under average, the 2016 growing season ensured good concentration and color density. Ripe tannins and natural acidity balance out this Rhône-inspired blend, leading to a compellingly youthful, yet well integrated wine with 16 months in French oak, 25% new.

Paying homage to public radio as a means for both popular expression and unparalleled accessibility, Public Radio relays its own message, acknowledging its role as part of an ongoing story for Grounded Wine Co. Founded in 2018, Grounded Wine Co. is an all-American, grassroots brand that focuses on producing terroir-driven, intriguing and accessible wines. Through key relationships with trusted and sustainable vineyards in California, Washington and beyond, Phelps plans to grow overall production while maintaining the quality and deep understanding of wine, developed while growing up in Napa among the wine industry.

“Public Radio builds off of the idea that wine should be open to interpretation, while maintaining a sense of quality and truthfulness,” says Phelps. “The goal with Grounded Wine Co. is to show the full expression of a place and let the wines tell the story. The 2016 vintage produced great Rhône varietals on the Central Coast and I think that shows in Public Radio.”

Grounded Wine Co.’s Public Radio (SRP $25) is distributed through Vintage Wine Estates and is available at select retail locations nation wide, as well as on GroundedWineCo.com.
